About SSOF

More than a race. It’s a weekend you’ll remember.

Set in the stunning grounds of Drumlanrig Castle, the South Scotland Outdoor Festival brings together world-class adventure, culture, and community for one unforgettable weekend.

Take on trail races weaving through the beautiful castle estate, where forest paths, parkland trails, and sweeping views create a truly special race setting.

Push further afield on gravel rides that venture deep into the rolling hills of the South of Scotland, linking quiet tracks, wild landscapes, and hidden corners of the region.

Prefer smooth tarmac? Ride the iconic roads of the South, a landscape set to host the Tour de France in 2027 — and experience them before the world arrives.

When the riding and running are done, the festival atmosphere comes alive. Included in your race entry, enjoy live music from exciting Scottish talent, including up-and-coming sensations Valtos, alongside a rich programme of inspiring talks and outdoor films. Hear remarkable stories from adventurers and storytellers such as Mark Beaumont, The Maclean Brothers, Elise Downing, and many more.

From big days on the trails, gravel, and roads to evenings filled with music, films, and conversation, this is more than a sporting event.

It’s a full-scale outdoor festival — and it all starts at Drumlanrig Castle.
